Have you read my blog post “Redemption: Jesus Drank Your Cup”?
Jesus drank my cup! Do you know what was in that cup? The fullness of God’s punishment and wrath for lust, pride, vanity, selfishness, thoughtlessness, anger, idolatry — in my mind, heart, tongue, and body. As a result, Jesus said nothing when accused. He had no defense. Because I had no defense!
So what’s in your cup? What did Jesus drink for you?*
In light of all this…
1. How can we think of ever sinning again? Against our Lord? It’s just one more drop of wrath for Jesus to drink!
2. Matthew 28:69-73: like Peter, do our person, manner, and speech betray that we’ve been with Jesus and are one of His company?
3. Luke 23:8: Herod longed to see Jesus, albeit for the wrong reasons, and was glad when he met Him. Do we long to see Jesus, to talk with and pray and sing to Him? Do we rejoice when we enter the house of God?
4. We all have one story to tell: what Jesus did for us on the cross! The greatest love story ever told! What story are you sharing with others today?
Where’s our passion? Where’s our zeal? How do we love Jesus so little?! Share the gospel of Jesus Christ with friends and family and strangers and enemies TODAY!!!
*NOTE: Sins against God you confess to Him alone. Sins against others you confess to God first, then those you’ve sinned against. The rest is voluntary. Don’t feel pressured to confess your sins, unless you want to. But you should confess faults to others, so you may be healed (James 5:16). If Jesus gives you boldness for witnessing, “Go home to your friends and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and how He has had compassion on you!” (Mark 5:19)
